Established in 1986, Biggs Cardosa Associates is a California corporation that provides professional consulting services in the specialized field of Structural Engineering from our offices in San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco, Fresno and Orange County, California. These services are provided by approximately 80 professional and technical personnel, almost half of which are registered Structural or Civil Engineers. These services are offered to public agencies, professional engineers and architects on a wide variety of projects including public, industrial, commercial, institutional, and retail buildings and various transportation and infrastructure projects. The firm specializes in the design, rehabilitation, modification and seismic retrofit of these structures.
Our projects range from a wide variety of architectural structures to most types of transportation structures. Architectural structures include buildings across many market segments: commercial, mixed-use, residential, hospitality, industrial, civic, education, healthcare, historic, religious, and leisure. Transportation structures include bridges, culverts, earth retaining structures and tunnels for highway, heavy rail, light rail, and pedestrian use.
Biggs Cardosa Associates uses a system of strong project managers to direct the design effort, manage subconsultants, monitor schedule adherence, control costs, and maintain direct communications with each of our clients. In this way, the project manager is responsible for the technical, administrative and financial success of the project. In addition, a principal-in-charge ensures that the company's goals related to quality standards and client satisfaction are met.
